The Silver Ring Choir welcomes you

The Silver Ring Choir of Bath is one of the leading mixed-voice concert
choirs in the UK, conducted by Grenville Jones. You will find all you need
to know about us on this site - if not, just contact the Choir through the
link in the left hand column.
The Choir's connection with jazz star Jamie Cullum, has resulted in huge
publicity and set the pattern for concerts with other celebrity stars. These
include Alfie Boe who was the guest this year, Aled Jones, Clare Teal, Katherine
Jenkins, Hayley Westenra, Jamie himself and top choirs such as The London
Welsh and Treorchy Male Choir, Grimethorpe and Brighouse and Rastrick Brass
Bands.
December 13th
– Bath's BIG
Christmas show
The Silver Ring Choir will be on stage again this year at Bath’s
BIG Christmas show which is produced by Grenville Jones. He has
been hitting the headlines recently through his leadership of the City
of Bath Male Choir. They were amongst the top 5 choirs in the
UK on the BBC Saturday night Last Choir Standing series which attracted
audiences of over 5 million viewers.

The Bath Male Choir
will be making a guest appearance at the show which will take place at the
Bath Forum on Saturday December 13th. This is an annual MUST for concert
goers and always attracts an audience of 1500 people.
Appearing that night will be super soprano Rhiannon Lambert as well as one of Grenville’s other music groups, the fantastic Stockingtops girls group, plus the Susan Hill School of Dancing, a brilliant group of young people who will be setting the stage alight.
Tickets are already selling very quickly for this concert and they are
priced from £8 - £25. If you are visiting Bath or perhaps bringing a group
of people to the concert please call Nikki on 01761 472468 to order your
tickets or email nikki@jonespublications.co.uk.
Singing with The Silver Ring
The Silver Ring Choir of Bath is always looking for good singers.
Currently, the Choir has over 90 singing members.
Conductor, Grenville Jones is always keen to welcome new young singers to
the Choir. You do not have to read music to belong to our Choir. A good
singing voice that sits within your range is required plus the enthusiasm
to support the Choir in all its musical activities.
Grenville also tries to encourage younger singers to develop their solo
skills where possible.
Rehearsals take place on Mondays and Thursday from 7.45 to 9.45 p.m.,
at Manvers Street Baptist Church Hall, Bath (next to the Police Station).
Members are asked to commit themselves to at least one rehearsal each week,
although many attend (and enjoy) both evenings!
New Members have to audition and would-be members should know that all music
has to be learned as no copies are used during a performance. However, Grenville
always tries to set out well in advance the programme of items and the hard
work in the rehearsal room bears fruit on the concert stage.
If you would like to know more about the Choir why not come along to a rehearsal?
You can call our Conductor at his office on 01761-472468. Or email jonesgrenville@aol.com

Our picture was taken on Saturday July 21st last year. Popular TV presenter
and singer Aled Jones was guest of the Silver Ring Choir and the City of
Bath Male Choir for a 1600 audience, sell-out concert in the centre of Bath.
Our Conductor Grenville Jones and Chairman Marian McNeir are pictured with
Aled relaxing after the concert. It was a wonderful evening.
